Bev Bowman dead in Ottawa at 70
When she married legendary sports personality Earl McRae she took his name, but in her day, in her own rite she was a VERY big deal.

I worked with Bev during her time in Toronto radio, and while she wasn't always the easiest person to get along with, she could be charming and provide a different perspective, injecting a woman's point of view into what was then a heavily male-dominated newsroom. I also knew her late husband, Earl McRae, definitely one of the most talented people I've ever met in this business.
I don't know if it was a match made in heaven, but they certainly seemed happy. I'm truly sorry to hear of her sudden and unexpected passing.
