What Apple did that didn't hit the headlines

They hired Zane Lowe.  If you're not familiar with Zane Lowe, he was the replacement for John Peel on the BBC.  He is arguably the worlds most renowned musicologist.

Why would a tech company hire a guy like that?  Is Zane a great Objective C programmer?  Or..was Zane hired for Apple's new music/radio subscription service?  Why I bet it's the latter & given the signing with HBO announced yesterday we may see some life brought into the whole Apple media side of things.  Apple has long ignored iTunes & the world of streaming.  These actions tell me things are changing.

Big radio pushes hard against newcomers in it's field.  They petitioned to have Sirius pay much higher music royalties than FM radio.  They even went so far as to have the word "satellite radio" removed from a BEP song as if it was some swear word.  I somehow doubt the "Big Radio bully" will have said effect time time around against the richest company in the world.
