Mostly, it's not so much who but what and in my case it is mostly 91.5 The Beat; Z103.5; CJIQ; 102.1 The Edge; CBC Music; CKWR - also 105.3 Virgin and Energy 95.3 and CHUM-FM. Who I like to listen to are: Marilyn Dennis & Jamar on 104.5 CHUM; Larry Fine on CKWR - also Scott & Kat on The Beat, although I find they talk a lot. For me personality is pretty much gone from most radio stations and I listen mostly for the music. Unfortunately the bulk of my listening time is in the early morning when there is less music played. I do catch 570 City News a couple of times for news, etc.

Yes. She started sometime in May - Billie and Friends. However, four and a half months seems like a long time between leaving Country 106.7 and starting at The Grand, if that is the reason she left. Wouldn't think there would have been a non-compete she needed to adhere to. I'm not sure the Grand even reaches K-W. Anyway, she should be okay at The Grand for quite awhile. I understand she lives in Waterloo.

PJ has a new co-host named Robin. He had been going solo since the beginning of the year. Anyone know what happened to Billie?.

"he was followed by someone else whose name I never learned and who was awful, but he is also gone".

Sorry, actually he isn't. He, or someone, was on this morning. Still don't know who - I don't listen that much, obviously, but while I was listening and in previous times I have heard him, he talks over Lisa, among other things. Guess I shouldn't care. I actually listen to CJOY more than Magic.

I thought Rob Daniels would work out but it apparently didn't. He is currently doing a short term fill in at 105.3 Virgin Radio in K-W.

Rob Daniels was at Magic for two months and then gone and Lisa was solo again. Recently Brad Hulme-Magic's PD/MD/PM drive co-hosted the morning show with Lisa, I think for two weeks and he was followed by someone else whose name I never learned and who was awful, but he is also gone. Anybody know what they are doing? Trying to find a co-host for Lisa? Former PD Kevin Kelly co-hosted with Lisa for years until his unexplained exit. But, does she need a co-host? So far, they just seem to be in the way.

So what's going on at Magic? Lisa Richards is gone from the website and in her place something is coming August 20th. Her Twitter still lists her as morning host at Magic, but a post of hers indicates change is coming. I think she is presently on vacation.

It's the big 7 - 0 for CJOY today. It went on the air June 14, 1948. Happy Birthday CJOY!

The recent Corus cuts affected local radio too. Dave Hannah, who was the morning man on CJOY as far back as I can remember and who was also heard evenings on Magic 106.1, and Rob Daniels, afternoon drive at 91.5 The Beat, are both gone.

Rob Daniels has yet to be replaced. However, the new morning drive host at CJOY is Mike Devine. Mike Devine is one hard working guy as he also does mid-days, and is the music director, at 107.5 Dave and he is now also heard evenings from 7-midnight on Magic 106.1. He appears to have the afternoons off so maybe he should be given the afternoon drive slot on the Beat too, a slot he held for some time before moving to Dave. Actually he had been at Dave before the Beat, but under a different name (John James or something like that).

I really enjoyed listening to Mike Devine when he was at Energy Radio and was happy when he arrived at the Beat. I have listened to him on Dave and he fits the rock format well too. Mornings at CJOY he is a little over the top - probably a real jolt to those used to Dave Hannah..

Obviously Mike does not do all those shifts live-two of them will be voice tracked-eveings at Magic for sure, but I haven't figured out which of the other two is also vt'd. I am leaning towards the CJOY morning show. Anyone know for sure?

As for Corus- they certainly have no concern for the radio listener and have no recognition of the importance of the relationship between the on air personality and the listener and the community in which she/he work.

By Exidor:" I apologize if any of the stations I listed were incorrect.
I just copied Wikipedia without fact checking."

CJOY and CKKW are both "oldies" stations - just not 50's and 60's oldies. CJOY is 70's-80's-90's and CKKW is 70's & 80's - although I did hear the Stones "Satisfaction" on CJOY bewteen 6 and 7 AM this past week and CKKW played "hello, Goodbye" by the Beatles this morning.

Don't know about most of the stations listed by Exidor, but neither CJOY or CKKW (99.5 KFun) play 50's or 60's music. Zoomer radio (Toronto 740AM) does play music prior to 1970 and the cable station Stingray(Channel 719 on Rogers locally-also available on the internet) is heavy on 1955 - 1965 music. Generally speaking, the music I grew up with is too old to be "oldies".

CKOC 1150 has been TSN 1150 (all sports) for over a year. Don't listen to it so don't know why you would hear CFRB on 1150, other than they are both Bell stations and whatever program was on was possibly being shared by sveral stations.

According to the daily information provided by Mediabase to All Access, CFXJ is still one of their monitored Canadian Top 40 stations.

  http://www.allaccess.com/mediabase/q/report/stations/by/format/for/Z1

It is also listed in the Nielsen BDS Stations Monitored as at June 15, 2016-scroll down to Canada:Top 40

Scot Turner is now PD at CFXJ Toronto - 93.5 The Move, previously Flow 93.5. Should be interesting to see what he does there. Flow was an R&B station which morfed into a Rhythmic CHR and now is an R&B oldies station with minimal currents, although it is still part of the Mediabase Canadian CHR panel. Scot's old buddy from Energy 108/ Energy 95.3 days Wayne Williams was at Flow for a long time. 93.5 has a very weak signal and can only be accessed here online. Two others from the former Energy are on air at 93.5 - JJ, aka King (also previously as Axel and  AJ) and Mastermind do morning and afternoon drive respectively-a recent reversal of roles from an earleir reversal of roles. JJ had done mornings there for years until a few months ago when all the female on air staff disappeared.

I understand that Scot Turner has left K-W/Guelph for a new position in Toronto. Anybody know where he is going and in what capacity? He has certainly done a great job here and is apparently a really good person to work for/with.

And any word on who will replace him here? That shuld be interesting with The Beat now having a direct chr competitor in Virgin 105.3

Does anyone know what's up with Kevin Kelly? He seems to have disappeared from Magic 106.1 where he is/was PD/MD and afternoon drive host. He has been at Magic for at least 20 years, but is no longer on the Magic website in any capacity. He has been on the radio in this area since the days of AM109. After AM109 I think he was in Owen Sound  and Brantford for a time before moving to Magic. Elle Dee has moved from mid-days to PM drive and is also MD.

Two recent morning show changes that I am aware of are:CHYM-Adele, Tara & Cash. Don't normally listen to CHYM but have tuned in the morning show out of curiosity and I would say they are doing well. Adele and Cash (Edge & Adele) co-hosted the Beat morning show a few years back so they are not new to each other. The change should not hurt CHYM. The KOOL 105.3 morning show, on the other hand, is really missing Jeff Lumby. One other change earlier this year had Laura Geddes replacing Sophie Moroz on the Beat Breakfast. No issues with that change. All good there..

"Perhaps the decline is related to Kathy Wall being fired & Devine going to Dave FM?"

I don't think so. Those changes were recent. The decline started between fall 2013 and spring 2014 and continued through to fall 2014. However from fall 2014 to spring 2015 The Beat's share and number of listeners are both up. The number of listeners is only 500 less than CHYM.

I do think a lot of personality was lost when Mr D left for Ottawa and Mike Devine was moved to Dave. I don't know what happened to Kathy Wall, but Rob Daniels is a great addition.

I wonder what will happen to Kool with Jeff Lumby gone. Angie & Jeff were a great combination.

Also with Chym who has advertised for someone to do afternoon drive. There is no word on Adele and George Michaels has announced his retirement.

.....just some thoughts from radio listener

What the heck is going on at these two stations? Stacey Thompson is gone? She has been there for years. How does that effect Dan Delorme (Stacey's husband)? And Brian Bourke who has been there a lifetime plus Larry Silver, a veteran news guy and a couple of others. How are these changes going to make these stations better? If Kool & K-Fun were in trouble before (Kool did have good results in the last ratings) they are going to be unsavable after this.

By now everyone will be aware that AMP radio in Calgary has adopted the Quickhitz format where they play abbreviated versions of songs, edited down to 1:45 - 2:30 minutes. I guess 3 minute songs have become too long to hold the listener's attention. Not my idea of how I want to listen to CHR music. The listener reaction has been mixed-a lot negative, but others who actually like it. However, singer Jann Arden is not appreciative of the new format. Check out her Twitter @jannarden for some interesting and colourful comments.

No car of mine will ever be without OTA radio-even if I have to pay extra. However, I have not owned a new car since 1973, so I should be safe for awhile. However, will OTA radio change? Will they broadcast on satellite also?
