1.  The good news is there will be less litter in the streets (which is made of these free newspapers), and less lieberal propaganda.
2.  A lot of people were happy to see Don Cherry lose his job.

Strange about this week's NFL coverage, the Buffalo market will air the Giants\Bears game at 13:00, while the Rochester market will air the Seahawks\Eagles game, Erie airs the Dolphin\Browns game.

http://pmd.fan590.com/audio_on_demand-5/Dave-Hodge-with-Bob-McCown-pt-20181126-Interview.mp3

It is almost exactly a year since Dave Hodge gave an interview with 590.
"Now, Montreal and the Philadelphia Flyers are currently playing overtime, and...we are not able to go there. That's the way things go today in sports and this network, and the Flyers and the Canadiens have us in suspense, and we'll remain that way until we can find out somehow who won this game, or who's responsible for the way we do things here. Goodnight for Hockey Night in Canada."
Following the on-air incident, Hodge quit. He was told he could have his old job back if he apologized. He stated that he had nothing to apologize for and took a different job.

This Sunday's episode of Heartland is listed as the tenth and final episode of the season (not including Heartland - Through The Years which airs the following week) which is one less episode than last year.

Another sportscaster under fire!

As for Ron's rambling Saturday night...he said he chose principal over friendship?
He also said he tried contacting Don Saturday morning at 09:30 but Don didn't answer.
What principle?  Was there a conflict between friendship and principle?

Compare what Don said to a caller on the Rush Limbaugh Show today.  A caller from Texas said people (in the U.S. states) could volunteer as poll monitors and challenge voters and have their ballots be provisional if they can't speak English.  They would then have to prove their ballots legitimate at City Hall. Ken Mathews (subbing) replied telling how he watched a cab driver being interviewed by a TV reporter who needed a translator.  "How can someone get a driver's license not being able to speak English?"

What a contrast between our two countries.  I'm with the red, white and blue.

For the fourth week in a row, the Buffalo market (WUTV) will air a FOX-NFL game announced by Chris Myers and Daryl Johnston.  (WIVB will air New England at Philadelphia at 04:25).  Two great games at once.

Update: CTV airs the Santa Clause Parade at 04:30 p.m.

Annie Oakley used the term "old stock Canadian"  twice today on 640.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-election-2015-harper-debate-1.3233785

Callers defending Grapes tried to spin what he said - "(All of) You guys".
Let me translate what Grapes really meant - Why don't immigrants assimilate?

WBEN 930 Buffalo talked about this on the Sandy Beach Show this morning and all the callers (many Canadian) sided with Don.

As for Ron MacLean - he now works for the TTC

Explanation:  Hockey Night In Canada usually airs three 7:00 P.M. games.  Last Saturday -  from Toronto (CBC) Ottawa (SportsNet) and Montreal (CITY).
NFL Sunday games that start at 1:00 on CBS and Fox have their halftime show airing at various times as halftime occurs at different times. [In the old days, NBC and CBS aired two different halftime segments, one live with updated scores for each game, the other was pre-recorded and used as a time adjuster.  In most cases the live segment aired first, but when the pre-recorded segment aired first, it was to either align the live halftime segment between two or more games, or to stall time so the halftime show in progress could run completely.   https://youtu.be/3ryzx7n66yU  In this NBC 1985 video, the first segment was live, the second (at 04:35) was pre-recorded.  Halftime in the NBC Pittsburgh-Dallas and Denver-Houston games occurred close enough together that they shared the live segment, but the NBC Denver-Indianapolis and Buffalo-New England games were running behind, each getting their own live segment.  In some weeks, the networks usually produced only 2 or 3 live segments for the 1:00 games, but when 5 games aired on one network at the same time, five different halftime live segments had to be produced when the difference in time was abundant.
H.N.I.C. works the same way, Crotches' Corner is produced live for the game that ends first intermission first, then runs on a delay for the other games if the time cannot be coordinated.

The point I'm trying to make is, if (I' don't know because I watching watching) Crotches' Corner was running on a delay for one of the games, why wasn't it pulled?

I don't follow hockey, but looking at the schedule there were three H.N.I.C. games at 7:00 p.m..
Usually the intermissions aren't in sync., at least one is on a few minute delay.  If that was the case Saturday night, why wasn't it edited out on the third game?

It's ironic today of all days, Grapes have be crushed.  I doubt most of the people complaining (to the CBSC) are immigrants.
CBC TV has always carried live coverage of Remembrance Day ceremonies; CTV has an on again off again policy.  CFRB carried it today, but when R.D. lands on a Sunday, paid programming rules.   Dale use to carry live coverage on Zoomer, but Libby had the day off, Bob filled it, and the same recording of some butch woman reciting Ned Flanders' Field was suffice.

If R.D. was a statutory holiday, and it landed on a Saturday or Sunday, would it cheapen the spirit if the following Monday was observed?  One problem with multiculturalism is when a religious holiday lands on November 11, as Diwali did three years ago.  I remember a  1990's TVO program called "Many Voices".  It was a program to promote multiculturalism.  One episode had a girl asking a teacher if she could have her homework assignment on Thanksgiving be changed to Diwali. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbrJTFrFrM8

Twelve million people watched Game 2, out of a country of 327 million - that's one out of every 27.
Is that good?

He worked for CFTR 680 as a meteorologist, and will be filling in for the departed Jennifer Stanonis at WGRZ-DT.
I am shocked that Rogers would hire an American for the job; apparently he was doing his job while living in W.N.Y.
Mary Beth Wrobel will be returning as a temporary fill in as well.

Zoomer 740 CFMZ gave a way a trip to Mexico to a listener recently.
The funny thing is, Libby has often advised her listeners not to travel to Mexico for safety reasons.https://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons2/big-grin.png

With all the hubbub about foreigners interfering in U.S. elections, it's also apparently okay for U.S. politicians to interfere in other countries' elections.

What people have forgotten in the Matthews matter is if he were to do what he was accused of doing in another venue, such as a Gay Pride parade, especially in front of police officers, Mayor Tory would give him  the keys to the city.

Every weekday I listen to the time check on CBC Radio One at 13:00 right before the CBC Toronto local newscast.  (Why they have a local newscast when they are obsessed with Trump news puzzles me.)  Once a week I reset my watch to the exact second.  On Wednesday I noticed the sound check was 10 seconds late.  If the time check is just a pre-recording on CBC Radio, how do they know it's the exact time?
