The top CBC story for the past (at least) 24 hours has been the Raptors. Last week the Cross Country Checkup question was, "Are the Raptors Canada's Team?" At 0900 this morning they devoted 2 minutes (at least) to last nights' win. The life-threatening wild fires in Alberta? Meh.
No wonder so many Canadians abhor the CBC. Although I'm not among them, I sure understand their animus. If there was ever any doubt it's the Toronto Broadcasting Corporation, there isn't any more.
Tone deaf.

Two hours of "Are the Raptors Canada's Team?" on CCFU is indeed too much. But as for 2 minutes on the Raptors versus the wildfires in Heartland during (I'm assuming) a local newscast: Does a news director give the listeners what they want to hear, or put on informative news items that could drive people to other radio stations?
Maybe Anna Marie Tremonti could do a podcast on this conundrum.
The CBC would respond by saying the wildfire story got more air time on their CBC RADIO 2 National newscast at the same time.

No, it was a NATIONAL cast, damn their Toronto-centric souls to hell!
