Must have been the latter. His graduation picture from Conestoga BRT identifies his name as "Schnider".
Which reminds me.
Why does Google maps on my android phone constantly mispronounce Weber St.? It usually says "webber" instead of "weeber". Now if it were to say "vay-bah" I would probably crash the car in astonishment.
